We are looking for a caring and nurturing Pastoral Worker to join our team at Court Lane Junior School to support our most vulnerable children. As a Pastoral Worker in our school, you will have a passion for every child’s learning and believe in enabling an inclusive environment for the benefit of all children. Joining our friendly and supportive team, you will be responsible for working in partnership with colleagues to identify and address the individual needs of the pupils.  You will provide practical advice and support to the pupils and their families on an individual basis, particularly in respect of planning and resources, where necessary, providing emotional support and encouragement to enable pupils to achieve to the very best of their ability. You may be involved in ND profiling or Family Support Plans, working in partnership with Children’s Services or MABS to secure a team around a child.

This post involves working with and liaison with outside child protection agencies to ensure effective safeguarding practice.  You will be committed to both the school’s and the Academy Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policies and will ensure compliance with the School’s Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.

All academies within the Trust have a unique identity, but a shared belief in creating a positive and enriching environment, where staff feel valued. The school became part of the University of Chichester Multi-Academy Trust in September 2016, working with other like-minded schools to provide an exceptional education experience for its pupils.

At the University of Chichester Academy Trust, we believe that diversity drives creativity, innovation, and excellence. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity, fostering an inclusive culture, and creating a community where everyone feels they belong. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who are underrepresented within our workforce, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, LGBTQI+ individuals, and women (particularly for senior leadership roles).

Completed application forms should be sent to the school by e-mail to admin@courtlanejnr.co.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
