The University of Chichester Academy Trust are delighted to welcome Highbury Primary School to the Trust family.

Pupils at Highbury Primary study a full range of subjects from the national curriculum but great emphasis is given to speaking and listening, reading and writing, as well as key number skills.  All of these key areas will ensure future success.

Creativity is promoted throughout the school day.  With teachers planning motivational starting points at the beginning of themes, at the beginning of weeks and within lessons themselves. These include trips out, visitors in to school, dressing up and role playing situations and much more.

Children with special educational needs are carefully planned for as individuals to ensure that they too make maximum progress in their learning and higher attaining pupils challenged to exceed their best.  The Inclusion Leader invites parents to attend sessions to learn about how the school cater for their children.

Highbury Primary cater as much as possible for children personal interests. During the term they run clubs including: choir, football, hockey, dance, garden club, nature club and art club to name but a few. For those children who find homework hard there is also a club to support them too. At lunchtime there will always be staff available to help the children at lunch club.  Highbury University runs once per week to inspire children’s passion in a variety of subjects including different languages, cooking, the natural world, decoupage, outdoor discovery and seasonal craft.
