Fernhurst Primary School is delighted to welcome their new headteacher, Mrs Gill Richardson, to the school.  Mrs Richardson comes to Fernhurst from Frogmore Junior School in Camberley, a fellow University of Chichester Academy Trust school.  She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience and has already been working hand in hand with existing staff to ensure that her transition to the school is a smooth one.  With a few tweaks and changes having been made over the summer holidays, Mrs Richardson’s presence is already having a positive impact with one parent commenting “it really feels like we have a solid headteacher at the helm, the future feels exciting!”

Fernhurst Primary School also has reason to kick start the term with a smile having been graded as a Good Provider in their recent Ofsted report following their inspection in July.  Mrs Libby Isaac, current Deputy Head and acting Headteacher during the inspection commented, “We are absolutely delighted with this result and we are extremely thankful for all the hard work and dedication put in by our staff, governors, parents and pupils both prior to and during our inspection.  This is a fantastic outcome for the school, the Governing Body and The University of Chichester Academy Trust and is testament to the way the school has developed over the past few years.”

With the hustings for new school officers successful, we would also like to congratulate Henry Atkinson and Zoe Riley as they take up their new posts as Head Boy and Head Girl.  They are already busy coordinating our new Pupil Voice, a chance for children of all ages to have their say in how the school is run.  Henry and Zoe have had their first meeting with Mrs Richardson to feedback thoughts and ideas from the Pupil Voice on the topics “Sports Leaders” and “House Activities”.

It’s been a busy start but we are all set now for a successful and happy term!
