Health & Safety Coordinator

Part-time 15 hours p/w, term time only (39 weeks)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team.  With advice and guidance from an external Health & Safety Consultant and the school’s Operations Manager, the post holder will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, including the monitoring and review of health and safety procedures, to ensure robust and effective health and safety practices are in place and are compliant with current regulations and school requirements.  In addition, the post holder will raise awareness of health and safety issues, supporting department managers to enhance and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the school community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with an understanding of current health and safety regulations, able to undertake risk assessments with a good understanding of the current thinking and best practice in business and administrative management to enable implementation of effective systems.   Ideally qualified to NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.  With experience of analysing, developing, implementing and maintaining administrative systems and procedures that have proven to increase effectiveness and add value to the organisation.  With sound organisational, administrative and general office skills and the ability to work collaboratively whilst prioritising own workload and maintaining accuracy and with an attention to detail, in an environment with competing time lines. You will have the ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, be enthusiastic, positive and approachable with the presence to inspire confidence and trust, maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
